The dress code for the typically low-key Governor’s Awards was clearly confidence — see all the looks here.

There was something in the air over the weekend with celebrities bringing their best “newly single” energy to the 2022 Governor’s Awards red carpet on November 19. Now, we’re not here to speculate about the relationship statuses of Hollywood’s A-list, but if we had to guess, there were more than a few revenge dresses on this typically low-key red carpet celebrating awards bestowed by the Academy’s Board of Governors. Case in point: the ravishing (and for all intents and purposes happily married) Margot Robbie who was radiant in green Bottega Veneta, a sultry Florence Pugh looking snatched in Victoria Beckham and Taylor Russell shining in slinky Schiaparelli. Even the rumoured newly single Olivia Wilde accessorized an otherwise romantic Erdem look with mesh opera gloves that say “table for one.”
Whether the attendees were leaving their exes on read or not, it appears the unofficial dress code was confidence for this soft launch of awards season.
